The Best Bridesmaid Dresses

Posted November 24th, 2009 by cloud

wedding-dressCasual marriages are superb for tons of reasons-you’re not stuck sticking to stuffy practices, for one. This could be particularly liberating when you’re dressing your bridal party. It used to be that many girls dreaded being named bridesmaids, mostly because they were asked to purchase an intensely pricey dress that a lot of them would never wear again. Bridesmaid dresses are famous for looking good on a particularly limited audience, typically girls that ladies with tangible curves would feel no guilt about sitting them down and force feeding them potato fries and icecream till they no longer resemble sticks. These ladies can wear just about anything, but girls of the human variety have for ages been pretty luckless when it comes to intricate satin and taffeta monstrosities that we call bridesmaid dresses. The best part of picking out dresses for an off-the-cuff marriage is that your pals will probably be able to wear them again, since they are not sometimes going to be so fancy that your bridesmaids where them once, and the dresses spend the remainder of their lonely existences crumbling in a closet. you need the dresses to be lovely and help create the feel you try to achieve on your wedding day. These are one or two pieces of recommendation from a bride ( me ) who plans a casual marriage ( and yes, my bridesmaids, to my understanding, are pretty chuffed ).

One. LOSE THE LENGTH Your bridesmaid’s dresses do not have to be floor-length.

Tea length dresses are particularly in style now, and they add a fun, light hearted feel to your marriage. Bridesmaids will be cheerful since they can wear them later to semi-formal events. And , most girls like to show a little leg. Two.

TRY MIX AND MATCH SEPERATES Gone are the times when bridesmaids had to appear like back-up vocalists, with matching dresses, hair styles, shoes, and even fingernail polish. Give your girls liberty to choose a style that flatters their bodies, and they will love you forever. So long as you go for one colour family, letting your bridesmaids experiment with seperate tops is a good way to take ritual down a nick and let each girl express herself. You desire your nearest and dearest to feel assured and sexy if you are asking them to parade down an aisle and stand up in front of a whole room. Three. EXPERIMENT WITH FABRIC Lighter fabrics work the best for casual marriages. If your marriage is outside Cor on the beach, as many casual marriages are, you do not need your bridal party to be sweating the whole time. Select a light fabric like silk or cotton. Dress for comfort as well as style. Four. Select a FUN COLOR Classic black or the highly favored chocolate brown are great selections for formal marriages, except for an off-the-cuff marriage, try something bright and fun, like fuschia, orange, or green. If you are not bold enough to go bright, select a pretty pastel , for example light yellow or soft aqua, which can also paint a pretty but casual picture. Five. Keep away FROM Intricate DETAILS The bows, the beads, and the lace have all got to go. To keep your look clean and casual, do not get too wrapped up in details. Intricate decorations are better suited for formal weddings. Besides, you do not need your bridesmaid’s dresses to take away from your own dress, so make it simple. If you are in love with a style with a bow at the hip or a ribbon across the waist, go for it ; simply do not mix bows ( or any accent ) with other unwarranted adornments. Following this advice should help you in achieving a polished but fun look excellent for your casual marriage day.

Not merely will everybody look good, they will many thanks for letting them express themselves and avoiding “One Time Only”

Seasonal Wedding Themes

Posted November 15th, 2009 by cloud

wedding-themesOne guaranteed way to make a dream wedding memorable can be to have a theme wedding. However, deciding to have a theme wedding is one thing and deciding on the theme that you will have is another different thing altogether. You can opt to have a 18th century theme or a fairy tale wedding theme. However, when thinking of these themes, it’s advisable to factor in certain things like personnel availability and cost.

Say you want a fresh-look theme, think of the date, each season has its own charm and you can come up with a seasonal theme that will incorporate all the colors and glory of the nature that surrounds you. A lot of people prefer wedding during early spring or late winter.. During the spring, all the surroundings will appear new and fresh after the hibernation of winter, the parks and gardens will be in full bloom, and the colors will be in their best full swing. The landscape is normally adorned with myriad shades which are sure to ignite romance to any height and haste.

Pastel shades are ideal for the bridesmaid’s spring colors, each with its own unique color would create an unmatched look. Adorn the tables with small daffodils and snowdrops for that fresh look and back that up with some tulips. For a truly spring garden ambience, you can put in used jam jars fragrant candles. During the summer – June to August is another warm time to hold a charming wedding. When the colors of summer are compared to those of spring, summer color patterns tend to be spicier.

Your main aim during the summer is to come up with a tropical ambience by using orange, yellows, hot pink and lime green color themes. The bridesmaids can put on vibrant colored clothes and carry with them an exotic flower that’s unique for each of them. Let the wedding breakfast be in the garden and ensure there is lime and BBQed fish. For an autumn wedding, it can be quite challenging to your creativity because not only will flowers be less in supply but the colors of the few flowers available would be dull – talk of rust, gold, browns, coppers, and reds. You can substitute your flowers by mixing up a little of dried berries, wheat, and grass. The meals on the other hand should be kept as simple as possible – fruits, roast meat, cheese, soups, and bread (preferably home-made). Having a romantic or Halloween music on the background is sure to work miracles.

Although it’s considered a dull period to hold a wedding, winter season can offer a wonderful time for that dream wedding. You can transform the dull cold nights into a warm romantic ambience by using twinkling lights and candles. Most family gatherings take place during the winter hence silver, white or blue can be ideal colors for a winter wedding theme. You can adorn the tables using white feathers and the best chocolates and sweets available, lighting them using indirect blue lights. Whatever season theme you select, get a bit creative and see how long it can go to make your wedding the most memorable ever.

Discount Wedding Invitation Tips

Posted November 2nd, 2009 by cloud

invitation-cardsCreating wedding invitations is meant to reflect the couple’s sincere desire to invite the people they want to witness their holy matrimony. For years now, it has been a tradition that wedding invitations have to be distributed for the guests to know that they are truly invited and that the couple treasures them enough to be part of their wedding guest list.

Today however things have changed and wedding invitations aren’t the traditional understated cards that have been in use since time immemorial. The idea of a modern wedding invitation lies on the notion that the guests are part of the wedding and any forgotten (read neglected) details of the invitation should be an indication of how messy the plans were made. Thus, if you wish to have some tips on wedding invitations, the following are useful pointers:-

  1. Every invitation should have a reply card – the main reason of sending out wedding invitations is to have a rough idea of the number of guests to be expected. Thus, with a reply card accompanying the invitation card, you will have a rough estimate of the number of guest to expect hence plan accordingly
  2. Be specific on the invitation – while in many cases a wedding is a formal event, there are those instances that the couples prefer to hold an informal celebration hence its good to be specific on the kind of celebration the guests are being invited to. It’s also good to specify the dress code
  3. Personalize the wedding invitations – this happens best in small weddings where only a few guests are invited. Normally, wedding invitations are quite expensive and thus you can decide to personalize the wedding invitations by making them personally.
  4. For a more inventive look, have the wedding colors on the wedding invitation – while white is always the dominant wedding color that will never go out of style, the continuous change of technology has seen the innovation of new ideas hence its best to try out some other bright colors that will reflect yours and your partner’s personalities. The main thing is not to use a single color but a combination of different bright colors.
  5. Select a design that will reflect yours and/or your partner’s taste or personality – initially, wedding invitation came in the rectangular shape adorned with flowers and laces and although it has proven to be an ideal design for many, the fact of the matter is it is lifeless and dull. You need to present to the guests the beauty of life that you both have decided to share and cherish forever. It’s therefore recommended to come up with a modern design adorned with chaste beauty.

Boiled down, a wedding invitation isn’t just a simple invitation that you send out in other occasions such as a victory or birthday party. These invitations are a formal way of inviting a special someone who you want to be part of this glorious moment that you share with your partner. As they say, wedding invitations aren’t mere papers but the breath of the marrying couple professing to the world how much they love each other, and want their guests to be witnesses of the same.

Importance of a Wedding Video

Posted October 29th, 2009 by cloud

wedding-videosThe answer to the question as to why you should have a wedding video is quite simple – because you’ll regret everyday of your life if you didn’t. When you see other people watching a beautiful video of their special day, you’ll always curse the day you got married and wonder why you didn’t take a video of it. A video ain’t just an old-fashioned little side gimmick that many think, it’s now an art and a full profession. While there are inexperienced and bad videographers, it should be within your common sense to weed out any potential ‘bad’ videographer. This article looks at the experienced qualified professional.

In this day and age when almost everybody is capturing life on video using I-pods, cell-phones and any possible gadget, it’s important that you also don’t allow your once-in-a-lifetime moment to slip by not getting a quality video. Note that there is a huge difference between photography and videography, with the most obvious difference being that they aren’t the same. The other difference is that a DVD and VHS are portable compared to carrying a whole wedding photo album to a friend’s house or if you want to send to a relative living far away because they couldn’t make for the wedding. The other advantage is that it’s easy to make a copy of a VHS or DVD and distribute to friends and family unlike still photos.

Perhaps the most important reason to have a wedding video is because when you watch the video, it makes you feel like you’re doing it all over again. When you want to see yourself walking down the aisle, or hear your voice or your partner’s voice while making the vows, it’s possible with a video, exactly as it happened. A photo will only capture an emotionless, soundless, split of a second of the events of your special day. A video on the other hand captures the image, sound, emotion, ambience, mood, fear, tension, joy, happiness, tears, weather, and sadness, everything for every special moment.

They say a photo is worth a thousand words; well a video certainly must be worth a million words. This however shouldn’t be construed to mean that you shouldn’t have a photographer in your wedding. Note however that a video can do without a photo but a photo cannot do without a video – at least for the after-event-memories. Both videography and photography are useful and have legitimate places in any wedding’s budget but lacking a video is like not having music during the wedding reception. While it would be perfectly OK, it could be better. Shop around, look at demo videos and get convinced that a video is something worth having in the long run and you’re guaranteed to get a lot of years of fun out of it.

Casual Wedding Dresses

Posted October 12th, 2009 by cloud

bride-wedding-dressA wedding is a very special occasion that some time ago it would take even months if not a year prepare the wedding attires. Those days, putting on a traditional wedding dress was just about mandatory. However, as times have changed, people have developed different attitudes towards social events such as weddings. This explains the reason why traditional bridal dresses are slowly dying and paving way for the new generation casual wedding dresses.

The option of putting on casual wedding dresses can be attributed to the change of wedding venues. Initially, marriages were conducted in churches and churchyards but today people are even opting to solemnize their marriages in backyards and gardens. An informal wedding dress has its own advantages compared to the formal ones. First off, you have the opportunity to personalize your casual wedding dress to your taste and preference. Manufacturers and designers have not been left behind either as they have identified this as a great business opportunity hence are making relaxing and exotic casual wedding dresses.

The design and nature of your casual wedding dress will be determined by the venue of the wedding and the existing weather condition. Holding the ceremony at your own backyard opens a whole new opportunity of designs. During a hot summer evening, you can go for a designer strapless outfit or a short sleeved outfit if the strapless exposure will make you uncomfortable. A V-shaped or square-shaped neckline can also work perfectly. Some common examples of casual outfits for weddings include skirts with matching jackets, waistlines, bridal trains, sleeves, halter neckline, designer silhouettes, to mention but a few.

Informal wedding attires provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to keep abreast with the latest fashion trends. Unrivaled fabrics alongside great embroidery are what generally form a huge part of the informal wedding attires. You may opt to order your casual outfit or better still select a ready made one that will suit your tastes as well as your budget. If for instance you want a beach wedding dress, you can opt for, among many other options, a white colored short skirt and complement it with the matching sunglasses, right veils, footwear, and hair bands.

Informal wedding outfits are common especially amongst individuals who wish to be unique in such a special occasion. Even though ivory and white are the most dominant color options for informal outfits for weddings, there are basically all types of colors to select from. A point to note however is that because these attires will have little or no use after the occasion, its always advisable to go for affordable outfits, unless you aren’t working on a shoe-string budget. Luckily, department stores, local boutique shops, and numerous virtual online stores stock such affordable wedding attires and if you have more time at your disposal, you can purchase one and personalize it toy our taste and preference to have something unique and out of this world.
